Anderson Silva defeats Chael Sonnen

Anderson Silva shows the world why he is the middleweight champion and the best fighter in MMA. Silva successfully defended his middleweight title for the 10th consecutive time after he put away the man who we thought could finally end the champ's reign.

During the first round of the fight, it looked like Chael Sonnen was going to do it all over again. He was doing everything he did exactly how he did it when they first met 2 years ago. When the second round started, I was expecting Chael to do what he did in the previous round again. I was surprised when he attempted a spinning elbow on Anderson. This is how it all went down the drain for Sonnen. From this point forward, it was all Anderson Silva. Sonnen's mistake was that he gave the Spider room to work, and he paid dearly for it. Anderson pounced on Sonnen and gave him a beating that was long overdue. Eventually the referee stopped the fight at 1:55 of round 2.

After the fight, Anderson being the classy guy that he is extended words of friendship to his rival. He even invited him to a barbecue at his place.

After all that has been said and done (by Chael Sonnen), Anderson Silva remains as the UFC middleweight champion. He is undeniably the greatest fighter of our generation, possibly of all time. As for Sonnen, we don't know what the future brings for him but we hope to see him back soon.
